Tramp Press author Sara Baume has been awarded a 2015 Lannan Fellowship for fiction.
The prestigious Lannan Literary Awards and Fellowships were established to honor writers who have made significant contributions to English-language literature. The fellowships (in fiction and poetry) recognise excellent new writing but also the potential for outstanding future work, and seeks to nurture that potential.
The foundation runs the awards based on recommendations and blind judging:
‘Candidates for the awards are recommended to the Foundation by a network of writers, literary scholars, publishers, and editors. Nominators are geographically dispersed and serve anonymously. The final determination of recipients is made by the Foundation’s literary committee.’
The Foundation also produces a literary reading series, Readings & Conversations in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
